Make A Flower Arrangement Without Floral Foam

Floral arrangements brighten any space.

Continue to work outward from the center strips, making a crisscross woven design with the tape. When you are finished, the top of your flower container should look like an open weave of tape with slots or holes for the flower stems.4.

Instructions

1. Mix floral preservative with water, following package directions, and fill your vase. Floral preservative will help your flowers stay fresh longer. Filling your vase prior to making a support system will be easier and ensure the supports stay in place.

2. Dry the outer edge and sides of the vase with a clean paper towel.

3. Place a strip of tape across the rim of the container at the center. Press the tape securely to the outer edges of the rim. The tape does not need to extend more than 1 inch over the container's rim. Next, place a strip of tape perpendicular across the first strip, in the center.Floral foam is a convenient adjustment for holding and hydrating modern flowers in arrangements. Provided you cook not keep florist's foam available, or thirst to arrange flowers in a vase that the foam would be visible, you can apply a floral frog. Flower stems are inserted into the floral frog holes to support the stems in the arrangement. You can create your own frog support for your floral arrangements.

Place flower stems through the woven holes in the center of the container, and then work outward, toward the rim.

5. Cover the tape around the rim with either a wide strip of coordinating ribbon, tied into a bow, or greenery and flowers that will hang over the edge and cover the tape.
