Academy of Art University


The Academy of Art University, located in San Francisco, offers a six-week precollege summer program with a photography emphasis option for students 16 and older. Students participate in classes from beginner to advanced that focus on learning proper technique and inspiring creativity during two weekly sessions of two hours and 50 minutes. Out-of-town students may opt for school-provided housing at the college. Dormitories are limited to precollege students and are supervised by campus resident advisers. The Academy of Art summer intensive program enrollment is by application only.

All photography focus students must reside on campus at Georgetown University during the summer program. Residential students participate in planned activities that include visiting the Smithsonian museums and the National Gallery of Art.
