Glurch is one of those classic crafts that many generations carry created. You can cut it, stretch it and color on it with markers. The best part is that glurch is extremely easy to clean. It comes off of clothes very easily and does not stick to carpet or furniture. If you remember this fun substance from your childhood, or want to give something new a try, here is the recipe for glurch. When finished, it has a rubbery, floppy texture nevertheless looks compatible shiny play dough. If you think your kids have fun playing with clay or play dough, just wait to see how much fun they have playing with glurch. Glurch takes on the shape of whatever it touches.
Instructions
1. Pour 2 cups of white, school glue in with 1 1/2 cups of water. Make sure you use a fairly large bowl and mix well. You will not be able to make a perfectly uniform solution, but try as hard as you can.
2. Mix 3 teaspoons Borax with 1/3 cup water in a separate bowl. This bowl can be a standard cereal bowl. It does not need to be large. Stir around with a spoon for 10 seconds.
3. Dump all of the water/Borax solution into the large bowl of water and glue. Begin stirring with a large spoon. You will notice large, coagulating chunks begin to form. When you see and feel these chunks, pull them out and put them into a large zip lock plastic bag.
4. Make another Borax/water solution and repeat steps 2 and 3 over and over again until all of the glue has coagulated and been pulled out. The coagulated portions are your glurch.
5. Pick up the plastic storage bag and pour out any residual liquid that has come out with the glurch. This will be where you will store your glurch when no one is playing with it. It will not soak up the glurch's liquid and you can make an airtight seal.
