Westchester County, Distinct York is at rest to cities including Achromic Plains, Yonkers and Salem. While there is not a committed children's museum in the Westchester County field (the Westchester Children's Museum is scheduled for completion in 2011), there are diverse museums that carry chief exhibits, activities and workshops for their smaller visitors.
Hudson River Museum
The Hudson River Museum is located in central Yonkers, the largest municipality in Westchester county. The museum offers a divergency of exhibits ranging from Craft to sculpture, and "all of it draws its singularity from its mark on the banks of the Hudson River," according to the museum. The Hudson Riverama, designed blameless for kids, is a video tour of the existence highlighting the birds, animals, and land of the Hudson River Dale. The "Faculty's Absent, Stars Are In" programme offers children school-age and above a chance to go into the skies at the museum's planetarium. Beczak Environmental Education Center
Beczak is an outdoor museum in Yonkers that is focused on the Hudson River and its inhabitants. According to the centre, "all children extremity to safely interact with the familiar sphere for healthy enlargement." Interactive activities condign for kids accommodate measuring tides and petting eels. Indoor displays include the work of local artists, with a focus on watercolors of nature scenes. Workshops just for kids are also offered on a regular basis.
