Instructions


1. Wash and dry the shirt that you are airbrushing to remove any chemicals and loose fibers.


2. Stretch the shirt out over a board and clip or pin it in place.


3. Lightly sketch lines onto the shirt with a pencil and ruler. These will help you to keep your lettering even and will wash away when the shirt is laundered.

5. Fill the paint reservoir on your airbrush with the color of your choice. If you plan to use multiple colors, begin with the lightest and work your way to the darkest.


6. Hold or stick the stencil in place and airbrush onto it. Be careful not to get the paint too close to the edges of the stencil or you will accidentally get paint on the shirt where you don't want it.


4. Select the letter stencils that you want to use. Some stencils come with an adhesive backing, allowing you to set entire words in place before airbrushing. Others are hand-held or kept in place with masking tape, requiring you to airbrush one letter at a time.


Remove the stencil by pulling it straight away from the shirt. Do not drag or slide it, or the paint may smear.


9. Allow the paint to fully dry before applying the next stencil if the letters will overlap. You can speed the drying process with a hairdryer.


10. Continue airbrushing through the stencils until all of your lettering is complete.
