Build Speakers

Speakers labour using magnets and electromagnets. Sound complicated? Right, it's really entirely elementary, and production a establish of temporary speakers yourself is something you can de facto cook with a brief weekend to your regional hardware store. With due a minor bit of ingenuity, you besides can include a basic establish of homemade speakers.

Instructions

1. Constitute your magnetite stack. Stack all five CD magnets on top of Everyone other. Glue them down to a collection of cardboard that you corner decrease outside. Build the cardboard around 4 inches by 4 inches. Wait until the glue dries to proceed to the later process.

2. Author your electromagnet mannequin. Wrap a plenty of paper encompassing the electromagnet stack that is intersect to be the duplicate heighth as the lodestone stack. Tape it closed. Forthwith, tape another parcel of paper encircling the front piece. This second piece will be what you will use to create your electromagnet. Let the supports dry.4. Assemble your speaker. Take the electromagnet mount and slip the electromagnet cone down over the magnet stack. You have just made your electromagnet.

3. Build your electromagnet mount. Cut out a piece of paper a little bigger than the cardboard base. Make it approximately 5 inches by 5 inches. In the center of the paper, glue the electromagnet down. Let the electromagnet dry to its base. Now, create cardboard stands for the electromagnet base. On the same side as the electromagnet, glue cardboard supports to the corners standing just a little taller than the magnet stack. These can simply be half-inch wide strips of cardboard folded in half, width wise, so they can stand and support the paper with the electromagnet on it. Take the second paper loop off of the magnet stack and glue the copper wire to the base of it, leaving a good foot to foot and a half of wire sticking out. Now wrap the copper wire around the paper all the way up the paper loop. Glue the wire down to the top of the loop, leaving another foot to foot and a half of wire sticking out from this end.

There should be a little bit of room for the electromagnet mount to move. Now, take the free copper wires and clip them into the output wire jacks on the back of your stereo. Turn on your stereo and play music. You should be able to hear the output being generated through the paper base on top of the electromagnet. Congratulations, you have just made a speaker.
